Fanshawe Spotlight Student: Craig Burney

Craig Burney is a second year Television Broadcast Student from Kitchener Ontario. An interesting fact about Craig is that he almost died from explosive debris (while pretending to be dead) during a Battle re-enactment. Craig is of Scottish descent and loves doing historical re-enactments.

Craig is our Spotlight Student of the week and has answered a few questions for us to get to know him better.

Favourite TV Show:
Sharpe’s Rifles (Sean Bean, and he doesn’t die!)

What are your hobbies outside school?
I am a drummer. I read… history, and watch Bollywood movies.

Would you rather have world war three or a zombie apocalypse?
World War Three. As crazy as it sounds, there’s a lot more hope for human survival that way, I think. Besides, fighting for Queen & Country is a little more dignified than fighting for survival.

What is the craziest thing that you have accomplished in your life?
I acted in a movie once. That’s pretty crazy, I suppose!

Who is your inspiration for what you’re studying?
I really am interested in writing for dramatic television. Historical-based dramas in particular. I mean, I love the epic visual sweep of movies, but television can allow you to cover a far broader canvas of plot and character nuance.
