Fanshawe Spotlight Student: Carly Ball

Matt Brickman

Carly Ball is a second year Television Broadcast student from Chatham, Ontario. An interesting fact about Carly is that she used to have two pet goats named Bell and Star. Carly is a farmer’s daughter who grew up surrounded by country fields and dirt roads. She loves learning new things, exploring new places, and meeting new people.

Carly is our Spotlight Student of the week and has answered a few questions for us to get to know her better.

Favourite TV Show:
Mad Men.

What are your hobbies outside school?
Some of my hobbies and interests outside of school include golf, skiing, ice skating, musicals, movies, and reading.

What is the craziest thing that you have accomplished in your life?
I’m not entirely sure if this could be considered as a crazy accomplishment in my life, but I’ve never broken a single bone…yet, and hopefully never will!

Where do you hope to be in five years?
Some goals I hope to achieve in five years from now are to have found a good full-time job in the television industry, or to at least be financially stable where I won’t need the help of my parents. I unfortunately can’t say what the job will be because I still don’t really know where I’ll end up after college, but I hope it leads me in the right direction. I also hope to be living in Toronto and to be doing some travelling on the side.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
If I could live anywhere I would love to live somewhere in Europe. In high school I went on a history trip where we visited France, Belgium, and Amsterdam, and for me it was love at first sight! I find the history and culture in Europe so fascinating and historic, and there is still plenty of it that I would love to see!
